Just Getting Started: Let the Blogging Adventure Begin!

A big welcome to this new adventure! Bear with me while I get my feet under me and figure out how to use website editors and basically all things technology.

Step 1: Creating a domain and getting the initial website online. I chose to use BlueHost solely because it is the first one I found that seemed to work. Luckily it uses WordPress which have very limited experience with (I worked at a museum for 6 months and helped add events to the website calendar. IT COUNTS!) Another major luck out is that the name I use on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram are all the same! What are the odds that it was available on all the platforms. I’ll take it.

Step 2: Playing with the navigation and all the buttons on this dang website. I am NOT a tech savvy person so this was a struggle, and I can see it continuing to be one for a while… But we persevere. I learned to add images and hyperlinks, typed a few paragraphs, and had to delete a bunch of other things. The auto set up seemed nice at first, but it had a lot of not useful pieces that I couldn’t make work.

Step 3: Adding the About ME page. This will likely be changed a million and 12 times but for now I accept it.

Step 4: CREATING MY FIRST POST!! So here we are 🙂

You know that moment when you are on a trip and riding public transit googling the things you want to see when you get there? Maybe that is just my travel style, but I love wandering a district and finding hidden gems. Not living on a strict schedule and constantly looking at my maps on where I should be going next. Well, that leads me here. I was scrolling through blogs, Reddit posts, and all the local travel websites when I got to thinking that I would love to be able to look back and see my life’s adventures written out like that. I’m a smart creative (ish) person with some time on my hands. I can figure that out. Let’s see if I actually can now.
